About Me

Lulu Xu is a Chinese Australian illustrator and interdisciplinary artist currently based in Wellington, New Zealand, with a passion for storytelling woven into every piece of her artwork. Her artistic journey began with a deep appreciation for nature and whimsical themes, which continue to inspire her creativities. She is also inspired by her travels in many countries in the past few years.

She finds great joy in the tactile nature of art-making, using mediums like gouache, watercolour, coloured pencil, ink and more to bring her imaginations to life. In addition to traditional art, she's fascinated by immersive and interactive technologies like AR and VR. In one of her projects The Door, Lulu blended tactile art-making with immersive technologies, exploring ways of storytelling that are noval and captivating.

Outside of art, you can often find Lulu hiking through nature trails and exploring new destinations. She also hosts a YouTube Channel where she shares insights into her creative process, and experiments with new creative ideas.
